Furlough:
The last three weeks have been a whirlwind of events. Because of a threat to close borders in South Africa and Europe again (which did not actually happen), I made the decision to push up our departure date for furlough by three weeks. This left my wife with only two days to pack up the house and say our goodbyes.
Praise the Lord, all our travels went smoothly and we arrived in the states on November 1st. Since our arrival, we have been busy setting up our house and preparing for our travels which are scheduled to start after Thanksgiving. In the mean time, we have already had the opportunity to preach a few times and give updates to a couple of supporting churches locally.
If you are interested in having us come by your church and give an update or present our ministry, we still have plenty of available dates in 2021. Please contact me at jhsouthafrica@gmail.com or you can call me at 770-810-5704.
The Work in South Africa:
The work in South Africa continues on in our absence. I have already received good reports of sweet services and God’s provision in our absence. We are expecting the Lord to use this time to grow the leadership as well as the membership, spiritually and numerically over the next year. Please remember Soweto Baptist Church in your prayers; especially Mfundisi (pastor) Mxolisi Dama, Likhaya Mabomba, Matthew Joyi, and Thulasizwe Maquntulu.
Another ministry I would like to ask you to remember in your prayers is our circuit riding ministry in the area of Slovo. We have one family of five, saved, baptized, and auditing our Bible Institute, who have relocated to this area and have been consistently inviting new people to church. Along with them, there is now a group of around 15 young teens who are interested in hearing God’s word. The men from Soweto are going twice a week to teach and preach the word. Last week we finished constructing a small building (shack) for them to use, pictured below.
New Webpage:
This month we launched our new webpage www.SouthAfricaMissions.com. You can stay current with all that God is doing in and through our ministry on this page. You can also find out exactly how you personally can get more involved in reaching the world in our generation through South Africa. I want to say thanks to missionary church planter Josh Levesque and my brother-in-law, Stephen Kozel for their web development and design work.
Upcoming Events:
I want to personally invite you to the Our Generation Summit, December 28-30, 2020. This year it will be hosted on the campus of Vision Baptist Church. At the summit, you will hear from missionaries serving all around the world. If you are interested in serving God, you do not want to miss this event! We are looking forward to seeing you there! Make sure to register today here: https://events.idonate.com/ogsummit
Happy Thanksgiving and again thank you for all that you do for us and the ministry in South Africa.
Sincerely,
Jeremy and Rebekah Hall
