August/September 2025 Prayer Letter

Dear Friends and Supporters,

God is building His church, and we are grateful to be part of it. Each week, we’re welcoming visitors at NPBC and it’s exciting to see new individuals and families becoming part of our church family.

“I will build my church…” – Matthew 16:18

This Sunday, we’re especially looking forward to a baptism service. Following the morning service, three men, one lady, and the Vaughn Bury family are planning to follow the Lord in believer’s baptism. Please pray that this will be a powerful testimony and encouragement to others in our church.

Ministry Outreach

We’ve recently begun two new outreach opportunities that have already shown tremendous fruit.

The first is Vistarus Mission Station, a unique home for individuals and families overcoming addiction. Every other week, I take a few young preachers from our church to minister there. We’ve seen people come to Christ during nearly every visit. It has been incredibly encouraging to watch these young men grow in their ability to preach and to witness firsthand the power of the gospel to transform lives.

The second is the SOS Children’s Home. This one isn’t new, but the church has began to go to the home and minister to around 85 children, sharing a gospel message alongside fun activities. Several of the teenagers have made professions of faith and now attend NPBC regularly. Please pray for continued discipleship and growth in their lives.

Mozambique Trip

From September 5–9, Bekah, our son, Jackson, and I took a short trip to Maputo, Mozambiqueto visit two missionary families currently in language school—Jacob and Christen Clower, and Josh and Morgan Barton, both serving with our mission, VBM.

We had the privilege of spending time with them, encouraging them, and visiting the churches they’re currently attending. It was a blessing to see the beginnings of gospel work in a city with such a deep need for the truth. We’re praying that God will stir the hearts of our own children—and others—to consider places like Maputo which are largely unreached.

Please continue praying for Mozambique and for God to send more church planters to this needy field.

Bay Baptist Academy

Bay Baptist Academy is growing! We are currently preparing for our Open Day on September 27th, and we’re praying for God to bring the right students for our Foundation Phase in the 2026 school year.

Last month, we welcomed Rozelle Bruce, a new Afrikaans teacher, to our team. We are still seeking a qualified Foundation Phase teacher for next year, so please keep that need in your prayers. At present, we expect to have just over 60 students in 2026.

Tomorrow is Field Day, and the excitement among the students is through the roof!

Building Progress

The high school remodel is nearly complete. Over the past two months, I’ve been acting as a kind of “contractor,” overseeing the preparations for a new library and commons area, as well as a small on-site coffee shop for the students.

We also have a container waiting at the harbor filled with donated books—many from you! These books will help us stock the new library. Please pray for a smooth customs process and that the container will be released without delay.
