Dear Friends and Family,

Thank you for your continued prayers and partnership in the ministry here in South Africa. The past couple of months have been busy, but we are grateful for the many ways God has been working.

New Believers: One of the great joys of the past month was seeing three young men follow the Lord in believer’s baptism. Two brothers, Asemahle (17) and Mihlali (19), along with Micah (23), publicly identified themselves with Christ through baptism.

Please pray for these young men as they grow in their faith, become more grounded in God’s Word, and become more involved in the church.

Visitors & Interns: In August, we hosted our final church group for the year, Fellowship Baptist Church from Marlboro, Maryland. We are always encouraged by the fellowship and help of churches that come alongside us in the work.

We have some old friends currently here, Pastor Rodney and Faye Holmes, who are visiting our current interns, the Lukas family. They are also the parents of Mrs. Katie. Please continue to pray for the Lukas family as they consider what God would have them do following their internship.

Mama Monica Plaajties:

This past Thursday, September 3, I had the privilege of preaching the Celebration of Life service for Mama Monica Plaajties at Soweto Baptist Church. She went home to be with the Lord last Thursday.

Mama Monica was one of the very first seniors we saw come to saving faith when we began ministering in Soweto nearly ten years ago. She had a wonderful testimony and was influential in seeing several of her friends come to know Christ.

Please pray that the Gospel will be clearly preached at her service and that many who attend will be challenged to consider their own relationship with Christ and the reality of eternity.

Wedding: We had the joy of celebrating the union of two wonderful young people, Gavin and Jess Middlewick. It was a privilege to take part in their special day and to play a small part in their celebration. We pray that God will bless their marriage and use it to build His church.

Men’s Conference: We had 12 of our men from NPBC attend the Men of Valor Conference hosted by Camp Rhino. It was an encouraging and edifying time. Pray that God would continue to build the men of Newton Park into a mighty band of men who will live for Christ.

September at NPBC: We have several exciting events coming up at Newton Park Baptist Church:

Sept. 12: Tomorrow, Church Bazaar — Missions Trip Fundraiser

Sept. 24–Oct. 1: Missions Trip to Mombela to visit church planter Noah Wilkerson

Please pray especially for our Mombela trip—that we will be an encouragement to Noah and the church plant, and that God will use the trip to advance the Gospel.

We are also thankful for several new people who have recently started attending NPBC. Please pray for Bevan & Lareez, Andy & Anne, Hannas, Micah, and Devlin as they get connected and become more involved in the church.

Looking Ahead: We have already filled several spots on our calendar for next year, but there is still plenty of room. We will be Stateside from December 2 through August 2. If your church would like us to come and give an update on the ministry, share what God is doing in South Africa, or present the ministry to your church, we would love to hear from you.

Thanks again,

Jeremy & Rebekah Hall
