Bayland Baptist Church: We baptized 6 new believers on March 27th. Pray that the Lord would grow them in His grace and truth, and raise up more young men and women from this work who would surrender their lives to carry the gospel into the uttermost parts of the world.

BBA Update: We admitted two new students, Emily Sewmungal  and Amila Matya, this month. Something you may not know about South Africa is that, because of all the different nationalities residing here, it is often referred to as the “Rainbow Nation.” Even though we only have 27 students, we now have 6 different cultures represented; Zimbabwean, Colored, Afrikaans, amaXhosa, American, and now Indian!

Praise the Lord, we have had 3 of our 15 full-scholarship students receive sponsors. We are still praying for scholarships for the remaining 13 students. The cost per student monthly is approximately $130. If you are interested in helping with a full or partial scholarship, please contact me or send any donation to VBM (att: BayBaptistAcademy).

There were many reasons the Lord laid this ministry on my heart. One of those was the opportunity to help our local pastors and missionaries. We currently have 9 different pastor’s/missionary’s kids attending our school. God is good!

BFWE: Our fellowship of churches (Baptist Fellowship for World Evangelism) started a combined monthly youth meeting. Soweto BC hosted the first meeting on March 25th. This is a rotating meeting between our churches. All, who are able, come and bring their youth group for a time of learning and fellowship. The next meeting is scheduled for April 22nd at Vision Baptist Church in Dwesi Extension.

We recently purchased some new equipment (battery powered speaker with mic) for some new outreaches we are starting as a fellowship. On April 27th, we will have an evangelistic soccer tournament. We are expecting many unbelievers to participate. Please pray with us that we will see some souls saved!

Also, I have been praying about starting a circuit riding ministry into the rural areas. One of the purposes in the combined youth meetings is to raise awareness for needs for gospel preachers, and to encourage the youth to prepare themselves for the work. Well, last week, a young man from Soweto approached me with his desire to preach the gospel in such a way. Pray for Ndumiso as he is preparing and equipping himself to take the gospel into these areas. He will soon begin to learn to ride a motorcycle, as he continues training in his local church.

Other Prayer Requests:

  • Continue to pray for favor with the government as we are needing our visa renewals approved, our property registration for BBA to be finalized, and our registration as a school to get approval.
  • Pray for needed funds for expansion of BBA ($3,200 to complete the roof on our chapel, and $3,795 to excavate and install a multi-purpose slab)
  • We have the Joey Barber family coming for a visit on April 22 – May 3.
  • Still looking for volunteers for 2023. If you are a teacher and have an interest in donating a year or two of your life, please contact me for more information.

Thank you for your continued support through prayer and finances.
