Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,
This month at Soweto Baptist Church we are missing several young men who have gone to the bush for their circumcision (“coming of age”) process. They stay there for several weeks as they heal and “become men” in their culture. Please remember Sethu, Luxolo, Likamva, Likhaya, and Athule in your prayers. I was able to go out to the bush and deliver them some food last week and speak to them briefly. Upon returning from the bush, there will be a tremendous amount of pressure to participate in some ungodly things. Pray these young men would yield to the Spirit’s guiding and do what God desires for them to do.
Bayland Baptist Church: With Covid and our furlough, this church plant turned into more of a glorified Bible study. Currently, we are meeting on Saturdays with the kids and Sunday afternoon with the adults. At the end of this month we hope to start a Wednesday night service. We plan to introduce this service with a movie night, showing the Jesus Film, and an evangelistic message. After the holiday season (Dec-Jan) we plan to start a youth meeting. Pray for the salvation of the lost in this area and for young leaders to be raised up.
Bay Baptist Academy: We begin diagnostic testing of all prospective students this week. This is an arduous process for the student and the teacher. Lord willing, we will finally get to submit all the correct paper work for the registration of the school with the government this week. The application for our tax exemption is already in process. Also, pray that closing and title transfer happens smoothly so that we can take possession, as planned, on December 17th. Upon possession, we have a tremendous amount of work to accomplish to be able to start on January 19th.
Other Prayer Requests:
- Five young men, first time visitors to Soweto Baptist Church last Thursday night: I spent the whole day with these guys last Friday and shared the gospel as thoroughly as possible; Lihle, Hlumelo, Siyabonga, Xabiso, and Lubabalo. Pray the Lord opens their eyes and saves their souls.
- This week the Clower Family from the US will arrive here in PE for a survey trip. A small group of us will make a short trip to Mozambique, from Thursday-Tuesday. Pray for safe and productive travels.
- Amanda Baines (a teacher who will intern with us for 2022) will arrive on December 17.
- Finances for Bay Baptist Academy: We are still needing sponsorships for 11 students for 2022. A student will cost us approximately $130 a month. Full, or partial scholarships would be a tremendous blessing. Also, we are still needing around $10,000 for supplies and modifications to be made to the property to meet health code for our opening in January.
We hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas. Thank you for your prayers and support for the ministry here in South Africa.
Sincerely,
Jeremy and Rebekah Hall
